High jump standout Woo Sang-hyuk has become the first South Korean athlete to win the World Athletics Diamond League Final.
Woo Sang-hyuk cleared 2.35 meters to take first place in the men’s high jump at the 2023 World Athletics Diamond League Final on Sunday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, USA.
Second place went to Poland’s Norbert Kowielski and third to Jubon Harrison of the United States.
On the day, Woo cleared 2m 15, 2m 20, 2m 25, 2m 29, and 2m 33 in the first period.
He followed that up with a 2m 35 in the third period, sealing the win as his rivals Kowielski and Harrison were unable to clear the 2m 35 barrier in the end.
