A freewheeling captain…full-time bunch against Sheffield?

Tottenham’s Son Heung-min is looking to score his fourth goal of the season after settling into his new role as a free-roler.

Tottenham will host Sheffield United in the fifth round of the 2023-24 English Premier League at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Nov. 16 (11 p.m. ET).

The departure of star man Harry Kane has left a huge hole in the squad, but Tottenham have cruised to a strong start to the season with a new captain in Son Heung-min.

After four games, Tottenham have three wins and a draw (10 points) and are in second place in the league behind defending champions Manchester City, who are unbeaten.

It’s still early in the season, but with 11 goals scored in four games, the Spurs offense is looking to create more attacking options.

And at the center of it all is Son Heung-min. Wearing the captain’s armband this season, Son has played both left winger and up front as a striker, but he hasn’t been restricted to either position, instead showing off his range of motion to energize the team’s attack.

While Tottenham’s attack has been somewhat rigid in the past with Harry Kane at the center of the lineup, this season has seen a much more attacking approach, with Son at the center of it all.

After focusing on selfless play to open the scoring for his teammates in the first three rounds, Heung-min scored a hat trick against Burnley in the fourth round with his aggressive frontline penetration.

In the two weeks of A matches, Son’s role has been as a free-roler.

In the last match against Saudi Arabia, national team coach Jürgen Klinsmann deployed Son as a frontline striker alongside Cho Kyu-sung, but instead ordered him to play more like an attacking midfielder, which caused confusion in the Saudi defense and led to a 1-0 victory 바카라.

Upon his return to Tottenham, Son is expected to continue to focus on the pre-roll role. However, the Sheffield Wednesday game will require more fitness than full-time work.

After two weeks of full-time matches against Wales and Saudi Arabia, the upcoming match against Sheffield Wednesday will come after only three days of rest.

They also face their ‘North London rivals’ Arsenal in the sixth round. This is a game Spurs can’t afford to lose, so they’ll need all of their key players, including Son Heung-min, to be at 100%. In the seventh round, Tottenham welcomes home the nemesis that is Liverpool.
