New coworkers welcomed…Weidner “Just hit me like you did then”

“My new teammates? I hope they hit like they did then.”

Right-hander Taylor Widener, 29, is starting fresh. He’s wearing a Samsung uniform. He joined the team before the game against SSG in Incheon on Nov. 11. After a brief greeting, he warmed up in the bullpen. He threw 12 balls. He threw 12 pitches, and his delivery was said to be so good that the officials watching were impressed. “It was unfortunate to hear the news,” Widener said, “but I’m happy to be back. It was great to be welcomed back by the manager, coaching staff, and teammates. I’m feeling good,” he said.

Re-employed. Widener signed with the NC ahead of this season. He ambitiously set out to make it in the KBO, but there were many twists and turns. He felt back pain (disc neuropathy) before the start of the season. He joined the starting rotation late and had ups and downs due to the aftermath of the injury. He made a decision. We said goodbye to Widener on the fourth. Samsung reached out to Widener, who was struggling with the starting lineup. “I talked to him for a while, and he said he was in good shape,” said Samsung coach Park Jin-man. It’s a good opportunity, so I told him to take it.” 메이저사이트

Confidence is high. His pitching has been gradually improving lately. In the last two games, he had a quality start (QS – at least 6 innings and no more than 3 earned runs), and in his last game in the NC, he went 7 innings (1 run) for the first time this season against Busan Lotte. The other thing is that the Samsung batters who gave him nightmares became his teammates. It only lasted one game (June 6), but he gave up nine runs (nine earned) in 4⅔ innings. “It was the worst day of my life,” Widener recalls. “If it wasn’t for that game, my numbers would have been better. I hope he keeps hitting like that,” he chuckled.

Albert Suarez’s absence must be filled. Suarez has been a mainstay in the starting lineup, but he recently suffered a left calf muscle injury. He’s out for the long haul. He was placed on waivers on the 10th, which shows Samsung’s determination to keep going. Barring any changes, Widener is scheduled to play against Incheon SSG on the 13th. Despite the 10-day gap, he has been preparing hard. “Even though I had to leave the team, the NC officials were very considerate and helped me with my training and bullpen pitching. I think that’s why I was able to keep my pitches in good shape. I’m grateful.”
